EXPLORING LISBON, PORTUGAL

Two weekends ago I visited the beautiful capital of Portugal; Lisbon!
Scroll down to see beautiful photo’s and travel tips for this great destination!
Strolling in the streets of Alfama
We stayed in an Airbnb in the middle of Alfama. This is my favorite part of the city, since it’s very historic and you can wander through the little streets all the way up to Castelo de Sao Jorge. The Castelo is located on one of the seven hills in Lisbon which gives you many viewpoints over the city. It will be one of the highlights of your trip!
Along the way you find lots and lots of beautul tiles on the historic houses.
You can find some of the Miradouro’s in Alfama. These are stunning views over te city and the river which flows next to Lisbon.
Miradouro de Santa Luzia was the closest in walking distance where we enjoyed the view multipule times during our trip.

A wonderful starting point to start a shopping day is the Praca do Comércio. This is a beautiful square, where you can sit by the water and listen to some street music. When you walk through the gate, your shopping day will begin!

Lisbon is most known for its iconic public transportation: Tram 28. You really cannot miss a ride in one of these trams! It will take you up and down the hills of the historic parts of the city. It’s really a historic highlight you cannot miss out on! And really affordable as well.

Treasure hunting at Feira da Ladra
Only a three minute walk from our stay, we had a chance to visit Feira da Ladra (thief’s market), Lisbon’s famous flea market.
You will find hundreds of stalls selling anything!
Elevador Da Gloria and the Ascensor da Bica
These trams will take you for a short steep ride! A must see or do when you are in Lisbon, and also a very good photo spot!
It’s originally a form of public transportation, to connect to districts because of the very steep hills, but nonetheless it’s a great experience when you are here!

To end this post, I just wanted to share with you some beautiful photo’s of the art in the streets and the streets itself from this amazing city!
